Detox Diet and Colon Cleansing – Part 1
Is there a connection between a detox diet and a clean colon? Many of the uncomfortable and embarrassing conditions from which we suffer nowadays can be directly related to inefficient waste disposal in the human body. These can be simply addressed through making the effort to clean your colon by changing by going on a detox diet. The ropes or tubes of our intestinal tract become blocked with deposits of plaque from mucous, meant to assist the transit of waste, and so digestive function becomes impaired leading to extremes of bowel movement, excessive gas and stomach acid.
The colon may be a repository for waste but only temporarily so because its main purpose is the effective and convenient disposal of waste from our bodies. Blocked pipes cannot readily absorb the essential nutrients into our bloodstream and without these, other organs are put under stress as their wastes build up too. The whole system becomes totally inefficient and ineffective if we aren’t able to effectively assimilate the nutrients from the food we eat. Nutrients in our diet are manifold and often miniscule. The measurement for trace elements is in micrograms (mcg) where 1,000 mcg = 1 milligram and 1,000 mg = 1 gram. That’s pretty small really. Our bodies use these trace elements of minerals and vitamins to trigger action from organs for specific jobs. If the delicate balance is compromised by poor diet it needs to be rectified with a detox diet which is short for a detoxification diet. The many symptoms we accept daily could be relieved if you clean your colon by changing your diet.
Natural Way to Clean Your Colon with a detox diet…
It is so simple really when you think about it, we need to return to the type of diet for which our bodies were programmed. Prehistoric man didn’t have the environmental pollution or the over-processed, high fat, low fiber food that makes up our modern western diet today. So what can we do? We can avoid polluted food by opting for organically grown produce guaranteed to be free of pesticides, hormones and other contaminants. We can choose fresh rather than processed food and make sure that it is not overcooked; and besides; the flavors are usually better raw anyway. Refined sugar should be avoided because there is plenty of sweetness in nature’s bounty in fruit, vegetables and honey. Fats, in moderation and preferably unsaturated, should be a natural part of the food like the oils in fish and nuts and virgin olive oil rather than added for frying or suchlike. Thinking back to our Neanderthal ancestors they hadn’t domesticated cattle or sheep or goats so there were no dairy produce in their diets. Eating complex carbohydrates will release energy more slowly giving you a constant supply rather than a mad ‘sugar rush’ from processed foods. A good colon cleanser is always recommended when starting out with a detox diet, but once completed, there is no need to clean your colon with supplements or other methods when many elements of a detox diet become a normal and natural part of your everyday life.
