Detox, Increase Your Energy and Prevent Disease
Everyone builds up toxins in their body. This is all part of our life style, food and drinks intake and also environmental factors.
Doing a body detox is one of the latest trends right now and for good reason. Scientists now believe that a lot of illnesses and diseases are brought on by ourselves. Human beings are the cause of these illnesses because of the way we live our lives: the type of food we eat, smoking, drinking alcohol, and lack of fiber in the diet as well as insufficient exercise.
In this fast paced world we live in, we do not have enough time to prepare, cook and eat healthy foods. Therefore, we have to depend much more on convenient ‘fast foods’ which are easy to prepare and can be consumed quickly. But these foods bring harmful elements into our body called ‘toxins’.
In reality we build up toxins throughout our life. These toxins may include pesticides which are sprayed on fruits and vegetables we eat, preservatives used in canned goods, growth hormones and antibiotics used by animal and poultry producers, and other water-borne chemicals and toxins which may be ingested by the fish which we eat. Almost everything we eat contains toxins and no one can deny that. In addition, widespread air pollution means that we inhale a pretty dangerous number of chemicals and toxins each day.
Can you imagine that during our lifetime tons of food passes from our mouth to the stomach and finally the waste residue passes out through the anus via our colon. The colon – or large intestine – is about five feet long and waste matter, mostly faeces, can be stuck in there for years and, in some cases, for the rest of our life. If you become constipated, then, there is a build up of plague which develops into toxins. Overtime, if these toxins are not eliminated, they will gradually build up until the body finds it increasingly difficult to get rid of them, by which time they will pass back into the blood stream where they can cause all manner of serious health problems.
The digestive system plays a crucial role in our health and as a result of this it performs a prime body function. If it is not working properly, people still hesitate to discuss it with their family practitioner. Constipation still remains a serious problem today due to a high fat, high sugar and low fiber diet and lack of exercise. Do we ask our children or other relatives about their bowel function? We consider this is an embarrassing subject, and we have insufficient awareness of how important this is to our health.
Another serious problem is worms, parasites and other infections, which are very easy to contract through not washing our hands properly before touching or eating food, after visiting public places, going to the toilet, or stroking animals. The fact is the eggs of worms and bacteria are invisible. People deny their existence through ignorance. As soon they get inside our stomach they develop very quickly and can spread throughout our body and poison us. For example, if a child in a family gets a worm infestation, then this is a serious problem. Worms not only eat all the nutrients from our food, but they produce toxins as well. If one member of a family get a worm infestation, then it is very easy for the rest of the family to get infected with worms as well. Worms can produce millions of eggs every day. They can be expelled from the body via the anus and can quickly spread throughout the house if no special precautions are taken. Poor hygiene, particularly not washing hands after using the toilet, is a major factor in the spread of infection.
What are the symptoms of toxins? A weakened immune system, overweight, a greater sensitivity to allergies, and more susceptibility to catch colds and flu. Fatigue, irritable bowel syndrome, stomach bloating, stomach pain, constipation, insomnia, depression and headaches. This is where a body detox comes in; you need to assist your body in the cleansing process.
When we talk about detoxifying our body, we are on the road to taking care of our body and controlling our health and life as a whole. Prevention is better than cure, and through a body detox diet, we can eliminate harmful substances from our body that are responsible for various diseases, premature aging and different psychological abnormalities.
