Is Your Body’s Colon Clogged?


Our diet is a major health factor. The reality is; you are what you eat. Thus a proper diet is important for a healthy life. Eating foods that keep your colon clean is one very important aspect of a healthy diet.

Why is cleansing the colon so important? Think of the mess if the sewer system in your house clogs up. Something similar happens when your colon is clogged. Toxic waste buildup in your body is a result of a clogged sewer system. This buildup of toxins can result in symptoms such as acne, brain fog, obesity, constipation, hemorrhoids, colon cancer, and other such things. Weight loss is an often seen side benefit to colon cleansing.

So how does this happen without you realizing it? The food you eat passes through the digestive system and into the colon. Crevices in the colon become filled with debris. Crevices impacted with toxic waste can result in colitis, polyps, and colon cancer. The only way to remove this material is with a good colon cleanse.

Most of our diets consist of processed foods which lack fiber. Raw fruits, vegetables and nuts that contain good fiber is an important first step to a healthy colon. This process can be improved with fiber supplementation. Both soluble and insoluble fiber should be included. Drinking plenty of fresh, clean water is very important. Absorbing water is one of the most important functions of the colon. Constipation can result from not drinking enough water. There are also other causes of constipation. Look for a colon cleanse that will also remove parasites, kill harmful bacteria, and improve colon muscle tone. Herbs can provide an important adjunct to colon cleansing. A good commercial colon cleanse will have all the required herbs in their proper balance for an effective colon cleanse.

A useful homemade colon cleanse recipe should include the following:

  • The recipe should not contain processed foods; but use organic foods.
  • It should be rich in soluble and insoluble fiber as both are necessary.
  • Fruits and vegetables should also be a large part of your diet.

Here are a couple of colon cleanse recipes you can use at home to begin your colon cleanse process.

Vegetable Soup

  • Cucumbers peeled and seeded
  • 1 to 2 tomatoes cubed and seeded
  • one jalapeno pepper seeded
  • half an onion diced
  • half a teaspoon of lime juice
  • three cloves of garlic crushed
  • 2 cups vegetable stock
  • 1 teaspoon parsley
  • 1 teaspoon of cilantro

Add all the ingredients to the vegetable stock. Mix it well and serve either hot or cold.

Citrus Drink

  • 2 tablespoons of lemon or lime juice
  • 2 tablespoons of maple syrup
  • 1/8 teaspoon of red cayenne pepper
  • 12 ounces of hot water
  • one serving of powdered fiber

Mix all the ingredients in a large glass and drink immediately.
